Heno & Prynhawn Da
During my time at Tinopolis, a prominent Welsh-speaking TV company, I played a key role in shaping the visual identity of several live television shows broadcasted on S4C. My position involved preparing graphics and videos for two daily live shows, most notably ‘Prynhawn Da’ and ‘Heno,’ where I was deeply involved in a complete redesign of their visual identity.
This redesign wasn’t just about aesthetics; it was about creating a cohesive visual experience that resonated with viewers and aligned with modern industry standards. To achieve this, I collaborated closely with TV directors, researchers, editors, and producers, ensuring that every piece of content met the creative and strategic goals of the shows.
Set design and development
Using Blender, a powerful 3D modelling software, I meticulously built a digital replica of the existing set. This digital reconstruction served as an essential tool in the redesign process, allowing the producers, set managers, and production managers to experiment with new elements and configurations before any physical changes were made. By visualizing the old set in a 3D environment, I provided the team with the means to see exactly how proposed changes would look and function, helping them make more informed decisions about the placement and design of new set pieces.
The ability to previsualize the set in Blender gave the production team a clear, interactive look at the proposed changes, making it easier for them to evaluate different options and ensure that the final set design was cohesive and visually striking. This approach not only saved time and resources but also contributed to a more engaging viewer experience by ensuring that all changes were carefully considered and expertly implemented.
Later, I played a significant role in integrating the new design elements into the live broadcasts, ensuring that the updated sets aligned with the shows’ refreshed visual identities. This project was a testament to the power of combining creative design with advanced technology, and it stands out as one of the highlights of my time at Tinopolis.
